New farm website for Warren farm

James Small from Warren Farm approached us to design and develop him a farm website that could bring together the three different aspects of his business.

As well as owning a successful farm comprising of a commercial sheep flock, a herd of cattle and around 380 outdoor breeding sows, James also has a campsite that has luxurious tents that each have a log burning stove, toilet, dining table, kitchen sink and proper beds. Finally Warren Farm also has a long history with being a filming location with such features as: Robin of Sherwood, Casualty, Famous Five and One man and his dog (to name but a few).

Warren Farm is part of several environmental schemes administered by Natural England as it fits with their beliefs of environmental stewardship so we took that into consideration when designing the visual feel for the site. We decided on using a natural colour scheme throughout the site comprising of a lot of light browns and pale yellows to give the site a light and happy feel that helps to compliment the farms naturally beautiful Somerset surroundings.

James is a keen social networker as he likes to let visitors see what is going on in all aspects of the farm so we integrated his pages from popular social sites including Facebook, Twitter and Flickr.

To help let visitors see the splendid Somerset scenery that surrounds the farm we added several images sliders to the site to help make the photography the main feature of the site.

Finally we added a contact page featuring a secure contact form and pulling in location and directions from the Google maps API to help people easily find the farm if they’re travelling there.
